Abby has been around dogs her whole life, from growing up with Golden Retrievers, to dog sitting, working as a vet assistant, and helping out with anything dog related. Handling dogs from a young age has been formative in making her the "crazy dog lady" she is today! Navigating her family dog?s aggression sparked Abby?s passion for dog behavior and for helping people deepen their relationship with their pets.
Abby currently has three Australian Shepherds: Maple, Oakley and Fig. Oakley was rescued at 9 months old with little to no prior socialization. Through Oakley, Abby gained further hands-on experience and knowledge with working through dog behavior, fear, and reactivity. The years spent building Oakley?s confidence and trust fuels her dedication to helping other owners with reactive and fearful dogs.
Her passion in dog training expanded into canine fitness after both Maple and Oakley faced health challenges requiring specialist care. Seeing how fitness work strengthened their bodies, boosted their confidence, and enhanced their performance in sports inspired Abby to pursue certification in the field.
Outside of dog training, Abby is a software engineer and lives in Leesburg with her husband, Andrew, and their three Australian Shepherds. She is currently titling with Maple in scentwork, and training agility, scentwork, and more with Fig. When Abby isn?t doing dog sports, she can be found reading, playing video games, or snuggling on the couch with her dogs.
