Foundations, Agility
Kayla began competing with dogs at age 7, doing so in agility, conformation and eventually Junior Showmanship with her Siberian Husky, Timber. She also got into obedience and rally then herding with her Australian Shepherds. With the addition on Border Collie Danko in 2010, Kayla?s focus went to primarily agility. She and Danko have competed in 3 AKC Agility Nationals finishing 2nd place in finals in 2016. The team has been invited to the AKC Agility Invitationals twice as the #1 Preferred border collie and made the Performance Grand Prix and Speed Jumping semi-finals, as well as Performance Versatility Pairs finals where we finished in 15th place over all in the 2017 USDAA World games. Danko earned his MACH and he's halfway to PACH 5. Her young border collie Mahnstah is also trialing successfully in agility while falling in love with lure coursing so the team will have to carve out time to pursue this sport as well. Kayla credits working with her own Siberian Husky as well as with her mom?s (MACH2 Cyclone; 3-time AKC Agility Invitational competitor and 2017 Medallion winner) with building her patience and perseverance when it comes to working with dogs of all types and experience levels.
